Kate, the wife of Prince William, gave birth to Louis Arthur Charles on April 23, at St. Mary's Hospital in London. Louis is the third child for the British Royal couple. The couple have two other children, George, 4 and Charlotte, 2.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared two photographs of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, taken by the Duchess at Kensington Palace.
The baby's royal title is His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.
The new prince is Queen Elizabeth's sixth great-grandchild and fifth-in-line to the British throne behind siblings Prince George, 4, his two-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, their father William, and grandfather and heir Prince Charles.
A 2013 change to the law means the boy will not supplant older sister Charlotte in the line of succession.
"That would in fact be the first time that has ever happened," royal historian Huge Vickers said.
However, William's younger brother Harry, who marries U.S. actress Meghan Markle next month, falls to sixth on the list.
People bet a lot on Royal baby names. This time, the name Arthur reportedly turned out to be the winner among bookies, followed by James. If the Duchess of Cambridge would have given birth to a baby girl, the competing names would have reportedly been Alice, Victoria and Mary.
