These days people seem to be losing hair at a faster rate. Stress, wrong diet, heavy medications and lack of exercise are some of the causes of loss of hair. According to a study conducted by Tsinghua University in Beijing, almost 60 percent people were found to be suffering from loss of hair.

Stress is one of the main reason for hair loss. Stress from work or study contributes greatly to hair loss. Today’s generation is pressurized to work, study and to compete in a challenging economy which has a serious effect on the stress levels.
2.Immune Problems
Immune problems also lead to loss of hair. Imbalanced hormones lead to disorder in your life. Women under the age of 25 tend to lose hair during their periods. Diseases like autoimmune disease and alopecia areata attack the chemical process of our body and stop hair growth.
3.Diet
Another reason for hair loss is lack of proper diet. A poor diet leads to balding. When you don’t get sufficient vitamins, proteins, and minerals in your diet, you can end up losing your hair.
4.Smoking
Smoking cigarettes worsen hair loss. Smoking frequency is directly related to hair loss. According to research, smoking damages the biological structure of hair follicles which are the pores that stimulate hair growth.
5.Hereditary Hair Loss
One of the reasons for hair loss is due to heredity. If you come from a family who started losing hair at a certain age, then you might also suffer the same.
6.Thyroid Disorders
Thyroid Disorder is the disturbance to the production of the thyroid hormones. Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism accelerate hair loss. Thyroid disease like Hashimoto’s which is an autoimmune disorder also lead to hair loss.
7.Medications
Did you know that there are some medications which cause loss of hair? Some of these medications are blood thinners, antidepressants, and beta blockers. Birth control medications may also initiate hair loss. Medicines for the disorders like gout, arthritis and heart disease also contribute to hair loss.

Sudden weight loss can result in loss of hair. Weight loss is considered to be one of the main reasons for loss of hair under the age of 25. Weight loss stresses the body and can result in the deficiency of nutrients causing hair loss.
9.Pregnancy
Most women suffer from loss of hair after their pregnancy. Hair loss after pregnancy continues for almost three months.
10.Over Styling
Excessive hair treatment can also cause your hair to fall out. Hair weaves, tight braids, straightening hair, hot oil treatments or any kind of harsh chemical and heat affect the root of the hair and causes loss of hair.
11.Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome is an imbalance in the sex hormones of male an female. It leads to weight gain, ovarian cysts, higher risk of diabetes, changes in menstrual period, infertility as well as hair thinning.
12.Trichotillomania
Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder which causes people to compulsively pull their hair out. The person is constantly playing and pulling their hair which can strip the head of its natural protection that is hair. Trichotillomania often begins before the age of 17 causing loss of hair.
13.Lack Of Iron
Lack of iron leads to loss of hair because the body lacks enough iron to produce hemoglobin in the blood.
