Anushka Sharma has finally married her long time boyfriend Virat Kohli in Italy on December 11. The wedding ceremony took place at Borgo Finocchieto, a countryside resort in Italy which also happens to be one of the most expensive holiday properties in the world. It is not hard to guess that Virushka, as they are popularly called, continues to make headlines as one of the most adored couples.

Kohli and Anushka said in a joint statement:

“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

Before Virat – the run making machine – got super committed to his girlfriend, he was the heartbeat of millions of girls in India and overseas. Kohli used to see ‘Marry me Virat’ and ‘Kohli you Rock’ banners from female fans in the stands at all the games he plays.

However, English cricketer Danielle Wyatt was so impressed by his batting that soon after his match winning knock in the World T20 semifinal against South Africa, she proposed Virat to marry her.

However, Kohli’s family, indirectly “rejected” the proposal. His mother, Saroj Kohli, said that they were not thinking of his marriage for another 4-5 years.
