One of the richest individuals in the world, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal was arrested on Saturday as part of the anti-corruption crackdown. He had been a major investor in firms including Citigroup, Euro Disney, Apple, Twitter, 21st Century Fox, and Lyft. The crackdown had also detained 10 other Saudi princes, four country ministers and dozens of other ministers. Ordered on behalf of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this is believed to be a major revolution to battle corruption in the history of Saudi Arabia.
Many times, the prince has been spotted making public appearances with his ex-wife Princess Ameera.
Princess Ameera is also known as Princess Ameera Al-Taweel in the English-speaking press and media. She is also a philanthropist in Saudi Arabia.
She is the Vice Chairperson of Al-Waleed bin Talal Foundation and is also a member of the board of trustees at Silatech.
In a high profile ceremony, Princess Ameera got married to Prince Al-Waleed in 2008, just when she was 18 years old, while the prince was 28 years elder to her.
The two, however, got divorced in 2013.
Princess Ameera is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of New Haven and has a degree in Business Administration.
Princess has remained involved in works related to human rights, women empowerment and poverty eradication for a long time now.
