Bollywood makes all kinds of movies from comedy to dark suspense thrillers. Last year when movies with poor or adult contents were about to release in late November and early December and when it seemed that people will not get pure content for a month, a slice of life film Dear Zindagi came as a savior for Bollywood.
Demonetization had just been implemented in the country a few weeks back and tickets price also dropped due to this reason. All the movies released in that one month period failed at the box-office, except Alia Bhatt – Shah Rukh Khan starer Dear Zindagi.
Dear Zindagi was a simple low-budget film with lots of life-lessons. As it was a low budget film, many people doubted its performance at Box-office in time of demonetization but since it had Shah Rukh Khan in it, it was meant to be successful.
Dear Zindagi was not a usual Bollywood drama but a movie with a very realistic concept and valuable life lessons. When Bollywood was busy with VFX, biopics, action, and drama, this movie came with motivation to live life. The film created buzz by releasing small teasers from the movie instead of one full trailer as suggested by SRK and this marketing tactic worked for the movie very well. The film was successful at the box office and also by critics reviews. It is said that many life lessons explained in the film were quoted by SRK himself.
