As per the latest reports doing the rounds, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters symbolizing South Africa bagged the ‘Miss Universe’ crown during the occasion at The AXIS theatre at Planet Hollywood casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
Recently, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters got her business management degree.
Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez remained the runner-up, whilst Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett was declared as the second runner-up.
Around 92 females took part from all over the globe in the decades-old contest. 2017’s version had the most competitors ever, comprising the first ever delegates of Cambodia, Laos and Nepal.
The 22-year-old beauty has garnered a yearlong remuneration, a lavish apartment building in the city of New York for the duration of her time in power and additional awards.
Steve Harvey came back as the show’s host in spite of making a mess of the 2015 Miss Universe crowning.

Miss South Africa Nel-Peters, a 22-year-old model, answered, “As Miss Universe, you have to be confident in who you are as an individual. A Miss Universe is a woman that has overcome many fears and by that, she is able to help other women overcome their fears. She is a woman that nothing is ever too much is asked for and that’s exactly who I am.”
While responding to the concluding question, Miss Colombia quipped, “I’m incredibly passionate about everything I do. With compassion, I have discipline. With compassion, I put my whole self in every situation that I work at. I’ve done this as an actress. I’ve done this a Colombian and I do not doubt that I will do this as Miss Universe.”
Grammy-Award victor Fergie crooned her novel song “A Little Work” whilst the competitors walked down the stage wearing evening robes. This year’s judges comprised YouTube sensation Lele Pons, ex-judge of “America’s Next Top Model” Jay Manuel and Wendy Fitzwilliam, the 1998 Miss Universe winner from Trinidad and Tobago.
