The news about The Kapil Sharma Show going off air has been doing the rounds since quite sometime now. However, neither Kapil Sharma, nor the channel opened up about this development. But now Sony Entertainment Television has finally decided to speak up about it.
An official spokesperson from the channel said, “Kapil has been feeling under the weather for some time now due to which we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However, once Kapil recovers completely, we will start shooting again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.”
Both the channel and Kapil have jointly decided to take the show off air for a month at least.
However, it is strange to see that the makers and the channel took this decision shortly after the channel extended its contract with Sharma for a year in early August. Off lately there have been reports Kapil’s deteriorating heath and not being able to supply new episodes.
Currently the channel’s other comedy show The Drama Company has replaced TKSS in the 9 PM slot while its repeats are being aired at 8 PM. By the end of this month, reality dance show Super Dancer will take over the 8 PM time slot.
