Aamir Khan's 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak made him an overnight star.
Aamir Khan began his Bollywood career with 1984 film Holi, but it was 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak that made a newbie like him an overnight star. An innocent love story set against the backdrop of family rivalry, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was a hit at the box office. And with his film Mansoor Khan gave Bollywood two new faces - Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla.
Ever since his first commercial success, there has been no looking back for Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist. Right now, Aamir is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood, and his films turn out to be the biggest blockbusters.
But that wasn't the case when he was new to Bollywood. Aamir recently revealed that despite the success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he had no money to buy to buy a car.
"After 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' (first commercially hit film), though I had a successful film, did not have money to buy a car. I used to use public transport until I started getting mobbed by people who recognised me in public," Aamir told IANS.
And if you have been wondering how much Aamir was paid for the film. This is what he said,"I earned Rs 11,000 for QSQT."
This April, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak completed 30 years.
