BCCI Announced Salary Hike For Team India Players, Virat Kohli’s Salary Is Now Too High

Indian cricketers are one of the highest paid when it comes to their annual salary. In fact, other than the captain of the Indian cricket team, coach Ravi Shastri is also paid a handsome amount. Recently, BCCI announced that it is going to declare a major hike in the salaries of the Team India cricketers. And, finally, it is announced.

BCCI is going to present its new contract for 2017-18. With this, there comes a great news for Virat Kohli fans. But before we tell you about the new pay hike, let us throw light on what different cricketers were being paid before.

Cricketers in Grade A category are Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Murali Vijay. As per the old regulations, these players were paid an amount of INR 2 crore per annum.


Cricketers in Grade B are K. L. Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuvraj Singh.


These cricketers were paid an amount of INR 1 crore per annum.

While those in Grade C are Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Amit Mishra, Manish Pandey, Akshar Patel, Karun Nair, Hardik Pandya, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal. These cricketers were paid INR 50 lakh per annum.

As per the new regulations, players in Grade A, B and C will be paid INR 12 crore, INR 8 crore, and INR 4 crore per annum respectively.

Other than this, the captain of the Indian cricket team will be paid more than the mentioned amount. As per a report, these changes are made in order to match the salaries of players from other countries.
