Following a debate surrounding forthcoming Bollywood movie Padmavati, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, on November 13, stated that he saw movies as movies, without entering the past or topography as portrayed in them.
When questioned whether Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi contradicted the movie’s release, the minority affairs head stated, “What you like in a film, should be accepted and what you do not like, should be left there. I am neither supporting nor opposing the film.”
On the continuing complaints against Padmavati, he stated, “I see films as films and do not get into its history or geography.”

Padmavati, which is all set to hit theatres on December 1, has been confronting a lot of problem since early this year.
The film’s director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, got attacked by the campaigners of a Rajput society group, the Karni Sena, in the filming of the movie in Jaipur.
The group is looking for a ban on the flick, claiming that the past has been “deformed” in the movie.
The list of people objecting in opposition to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ sprang up on November 12 with two Haryana heads advocating the minister of information and broadcasting, Smriti Irani, to place a ban on the movie.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ is based on the 13-14th-century queen of Chittor.
Haryana health minister Anil Vij, in his note, stated the state administration would talk to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), looking for an instant ban on the release as well as a screening of the movie.

In addition to Vij, industries & commerce and environment head Vipul Goel also forwarded a note to Irani and Bhansali, requesting them not to release the movie as it has “deformed details to glorify Allaudin Khilji.”
“Nobody is allowed to distort history and wrongly present facts. This will not be tolerated. The movie has tried to tarnish the image of Rani Padmavati, who is a role model for women. How can they glorify a character like Khilji,” Vipul Goel added.
Vipul Goel, who symbolizes the Faridabad assembly constituency, stated that the movie may harm the emotions of people crosswise the state. Faridabad has an ample Rajput population.
