Ranveer Singh looks violent as Alauddin Khilji in Padmavati’s new poster

Ranveer Singh looks violent as Alauddin Khilji in Padmavati’s new poster
After latest placards of Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor came into existence from the film sets, Ranveer Singh shared his newest image from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most controversial movie on November 11.
The actor dons the role of Alauddin Khilji whilst Deepika plays the titular character in the film. Shahid will be seen playing Deepu’s onscreen hubby, Maharawal Ratan Singh.
Releasing the poster, Ranveer tweeted, “SULTAN ALAUDDIN KHILJI-December 1st #Padmavati”
Padmavati is confronting a ban with irritated Rajput groups expressing opposition against a so-called “love scene between Padmavati and Khilji”.
While talking to Filmfare magazine in an interview, Ranveer said, “I’m s**t scared. I’m playing an anti-hero. Only when I see the film, will I be able to assess my character. It’s a risky move for me. That’s why I took so much time to sign it.”
He further spoke about this giant leap he has taken in the film, “For a mainstream leading man to make a choice like this at this stage is dicey. It’s a despicable character. He’s mean. One of my seniors, who I believe is one of the greatest actors of all time, advised me to be careful. She told me the Indian audience is naïve. If they love a character, the love will transfer to the actor who played it. In this case, if they hate my character, the hate will be transferred to me.”
Both Sanjay and the movie’s squad have brushed aside these hearsays.
As the movie’s release is coming very near, the debates have acquired a new lease of life. In the last 2 day period, the Supreme Court and the Allahabad High Court have disregarded pleas looking for ban on the movie. The movie is yet to get CBFC’s authorization.
In the meantime, MK Vishwaraj Singh, a descendant of Padmavati, has forwarded a note to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking for that the official recognition and release of movie be suspended. The placards and numbers rolled out disclosed that in the film, the life of Rani Padmini has been showcased in a mistaken way and the movie maker has showcased it for his own advantage, Singh alleged.

Produced under the banners of Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions, the film will hit theaters on December 1.
