This movie is a historical based drama which has additionally arrived in a contention, after movie producer, Ketan Mehta, who was initially expected to direct the film, blamed Kangana and maker Kamal Jain for commandeering his undertaking.
Ketan Mehta told in an interview, “This is regarding my project called Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen and her (Kangana’s) attempt and the producer Kamal Jain at hijacking the project. Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana for the project. I was sharing research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana and she was actively participating. My legal notice says how we have worked on the project for two years and how all of a sudden everything happened. We have asked for the film (Manikarnika) to stop as we plan to go ahead with our project.”
Kangana this year had given two flops Rangoon and Simran. Year 2017 has proved hard for her with all those controversies with Hrithik Roshan. So, all her career is dependent on ‘Manikarni -The Queen Of Jhansi’. This film’s success can bring her back in her position of Queen in Bollywood again.
Manikarnika is directed by Krrish and also stars Sonu Sood, Vaibhav Tatwawdi and Ankita Lokhande in pivotal roles. The film will hit the screens on April 27, next year.
