Gauri Lankesh was shot three times by unidentified men outside her house. She tried to run into her house when they were trying to kill her but collapsed outside. The neighbours who heard the gunshots found Gauri in a pool of blood.

Journalist all over the country are outraged by the dastardly murder of Gauri Lankesh. The murder has been recorded in the CCTV cameras installed near Lankesh garage according to sources.
Gauri’s house had 4 set of camera and she was seen getting out of her car after returning from her work late night. After she finished parking her car, a man wearing a helmet comes near her and starts firing. Three bullets were fired at her and one hit her forehead.

According to police the man accompanied by two as seen in the CCTV footages but the license plate of the vehicle is not revealed in the footage. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has promised an urgent investigation in the case . Teeming the murder as ” an assassination of democracy “, he assured that those guilty of this heinous crime won’t be spared.
Gauri Lankesh was an advocate of secularism and opposed the hardline Hindutva ideology. She published a weekly newspaper of which 5000 copies were circulated and many influential politicians and policymakers used to read it.Journalist Association has held protests across India and called her murder as “brutal assault on the freedom of the press”.
